Well Thank you all… after reading your experiences if I have another SP episode it will be a heck of a lot less scary. It was almost like I could have wrote anyone of those replies to my posts because yes I have thought “am I dead or what?” and I have heard voices and seen weird shapes during some of these episodes and that made it 10 times scarier than a normal one but atleast now it will not be quite as frightening after reading these experiences. Thanks for your responses and thanks for the informative link.

might your experience be mostly from when you wake up? if not, then i’m wrong, otherwise that would be the opposite. when you are stressed and you’re pre-occupied, your sub-conscious takes over before your mind fall asleep. on the other hand, if you had too much sleep your mind wakes up while your body is still in sleep mode.\*

I suffer from this too, but only rarely. Even still, the very few times it has happened are enough to terrify me. I always fight out of it, and my heart will pound for half an hour afterwards from the adrenal rush. Typically, I will then stay up the rest of the night out of fear of it happening again, which has resulted in some days with less than 1 hour asleep.
