That doesn’t meant that I can’t look at the “reason” given for his banning and say “that’s bullshit”. They were looking for an excuse to ban Handy, and instead of waiting for him to step over the line, as he undoubtedly would have done, they made one up. It was a poor moderating decision. ---

As **Larry** says, that’s irrelevant. **Handy** was not prohibited from providing medical advice, true or not; he was prohibited from participating in medical threads in in any way, shape, or form. Given the that the vast bulk of what he posted on any topic was misinformation, that was legitimate, rather than having the mods have to analyze every post of his to see whether or not that particular one was true. IMO, he should have been prohibited from posting in GQ on any subject long before that. ---

Sheesh, Dave…that may be true, and probably IS true, but if a particular person is consistantly posting incorrect medical information as if it is fact and the people who are in charge of the place where that person is doing this are aware of it …don’t they have a responsibility to stop him/her from DOING it? That is what I thought they were trying to do when they forbade **handy** from posting in ANY medical threads. He did it so pervasively, and posted so prolifically, that it would have been extremely time consuming to follow him around and stop him…and I’m sure they DO have lives they’d like to participate in, you know? He was warned not to post in medical threads ever again, or he’d be banned. He chose to disregard the warning, and they banned him. I never had a problem with him, but I do feel that if a poster is warned that they are not to do something again and they continue to do it…they have asked for whatever action the people who run the place feel is necessary. ---
