I will be in Long Beach April 28 - May 4th for a tradeshow. Any upcoming dopefests in the area so I might actaully get to meet some of you?? ---

Hey, let’s have one in San Diego! I’ve always wanted to go to a Doperfest, but never quite enough to drive up to Hell-A for it. Believe me, after a couple of days in Long Beach, you will definitely be ready to visit San Diego. ---

What goes on at a dopefest? I think it would be fun to meet other dopers, but some of us are shy. Perhaps if I know a little more about it, I might make it to one. Do you guys just meet up for dinner somewhere, or what’s it like? How many people typically show up? How frequently are they held? ---

Seriously, what goes on and how many people show up depends on the doperfest. I’ve heard tell of over a dozen people attending, but there have been doperfests as small as three to five people. Usually dinner is involved–sometimes a trip to a museum or some such. Depends who shows up and what they want to do. Don’t belittle yourself DRY, I’d like to meet you. If Poysyn can’t make it, let him/her slowly dissolve in the industrial air up in Long Beach. Maybe Sleepyhead and a friend or two can join us. That is unless DRY is also female, in which case … hey, so much the better! ---

Hey Greg Charles - don’t pick on me in my own thread! I am coming in for a trade show and was hoping to meet some of you, this is not a trip that I can just take off in a car (which I don’t have) and drive a few hours to San Diego. The whole point of my thread was to see if anyone in the area wanted to come to Long Beach so I could put a few faces together with some names. ---
