“It was _soooooo_ funny…” as they proceed to tell you the most mind-numbingly boring anecdote that you have ever heard. This is the favourite phrase of someone I work with, and has cropped up at least 3 times a day for the last 6 months… ---

“In and of itself” OK, so in fairness I rarely hear it, but I see it here all the time. ‘In and of itself’ is not wrong _in and of itself_, but in and of itself it’s driving me round the twist! In and of itself. ---
