I’ve discussed dating woes with my peers many a time, and they have with me. Maybe you perceive other people’s “lamenting about the world to a sympathetic audience” as “whining” because you don’t have a sympathetic audience yourself. If this is all about how women can buy self-help books about dating but men can’t, I would posit that the existence of those books points towards sexism towards women if anything. Look at those poor, desperate creatures, they seem to say; the only way they can find true happiness is by looking it up in the index. But if you’re desperate, there’s always that pickup artist book 😉 ---
