To pass the time in my mother’s Unitarian church, I’d look through the hymnbook. As a musician, it interested me. I think my favourite hymn in it was “[Morning Has Broken](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKoRp05L95c)” (most famously covered by Cat Stevens.) Unlike many of the hymns in the book, both the words and the music are beautiful. There was also a hymn in the book that had really ugly, depressing music. I remember playing it on my bass clarinet - and any sad music automatically sounds more depressing when played on the bass clarinet. It was kinda funny, actually. When I was a kid, my Father pointed to Issac Watt as the author of some hymns in the Methodist church. Dad was an electronic engineer, I am now an Instrumentation and Electronic engineer, and the unit of electrical power, the Watt, is named after Issac Watt. W=I\*E. Watt = current multiplied by voltage. 🙂 William Blake wrote the poem for the hymn, [Jerusalem.](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKaJ4b0XYmI) ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. _YAWN_ 'Tis a very pleasant 59 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 83 for the day. If only whatever it is that makes my sinuses all ick would go away! **MoldyMistress** we did indeed sing that as well last night. I know a lot of people just love that hymn, but I’m all meh about it. I can see kids singin’ it in Sunday School, but I think it’s a silly hymn to sing in church. Interestin’ that it does get sung a lot at funerals. I had forgotten about that thread! We are the only ones decorated. Oh well, we gonna dress up and wait by the door anyways and then eat all the candy afterwords. ---

Happy Thorsday! Happy Halloween! It’s a foggy 54 degrees outside with a projected high of 71. It feels like it’s 100 degrees inside. I think I’m going to start sleeping with my window open. Today is irk, and pet sitting. I feel a bit overwhelmed with fitting everything in. Irk asked me to work some hours outside of my normal schedule, it fits in with the pet sitting but it makes my schedule a little tight. ---

I hope everyone can forgive me, but I’m too tired and cranky to go back through three pages of MMP now that I’m caught up with work. 🙂 Assume I reacted appropriately to everything. Yesterday as I was leaving work, I mentioned costume stuff, and was informed by a coworker that we were dressing up _Friday_, not today. I’m glad I said something, otherwise I’d be the asshole in full costume on the wrong day. However, I find myself unreasonably pissed that we’re saving costume for casual Friday. That’s bullshit, in my opinion. _Today_ is Halloween, dammit. Now I almost don’t want them to see my absolutely awesome costume. :mad: ---

Got my trick yesterday-a migraine that lasted from about 2pm until 2:30 this morning. I just went home, shut off all the lights, sat in the recliner and put a blanket over my head until the cats jumped on my chest this morning demanding their tribute. The ground is wet, the air is chilly, and I’ve got a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal sitting in front of me. ---

Blurf. Think something’s gone a bit funny with the cooling fan in my car- it’s been making slightly funny noises for a while, and it started oveheating a bit today, while I was stuck in traffic. Bah. Will have to get that looked at soon. My housemate (technically landlord, but I feel very silly calling him that) has a gig, so I was dropping stuff off. We both sort of forgot that it would mean driving right through the city centre twice, during rush hour. Oops. The hazards of non-standard working hours… And I def’nitely recognised the ‘dark satanic mills’ line, there apparently isn’t an occasion that doesn’t call for someone to start singing ‘Jerusalem’ in England, for some reason… ---

This must be the week for it. I feel your pain, **2.99**. Lost my 16-year-old pug in September very similarly and my 12-year-old chihuahua just two days ago to cardiac arrest. We know they aren’t with us forever but, boy howdy, do they take a piece when they leave. Hugs! Vertigo is much better. The Epley exercise I did at home on my own seems to have worked so I am going to cancel the ENT appt for Monday and save some bucks.
