No, only by the people who can winter over, right?

There’s more than one World Cup, actually. Most people when they say “World Cup” are talking about soccer, but hockey has a WC as well.

Rugby, too.

Old anecdote I’ve shared before.

Drew Carey has told several interviewers that, when he wants to go incognito, it’s easy. All he has to do is put on contact lenses and let his hair grow out a few days, and voila! No one knows him.

The one drawback? He admits that, when he does that, the service he receives is nowhere near as good!

I think I remember John Lennon saying life was better when he and Yoko moved to New York and he again was allowed to walk the streets without a mob.

Their is a good book about when Elvis was in the army stationed in Germany and he was treated just like any other soldier. Except for certain times people would bring up his fame or when out on maneuvers suddenly groups of teenage German girls would appear and somehow knew where he was.

So imagine a convoy of jeeps and trucks driving stealthfully thru the forest right near the East German border when suddenly a group of teenage girls jumps out of the woods and zeros in on one particular jeep where the driver has his head down.

About 20 years ago, my friend and I were out when we spotted Leslie Neilson walking down the other side of the street. My friend points and yells across to him “Hey it’s Enrico Palazzo!”

```
Well... Leslie thought this was hilarious and almost keeled over laughing. He waved us over and we shook hands and exchanged Airplane! references, joked a sequel to Forbidden Planet, etc..
```

Cool guy!

Yeah... sadly that didn't work out well for him in the end...

See, generally uninformed on the whole sport thing. I LIVE in Minnesota. I’m surrounded by hockey nuts. I’ve met about half the Miracle on Ice team. Rugby I wouldn’t have known, but hockey I should have.

I imagine when a hockey player is cleaned up and in normal clothes he would be hard to recognize.

Depends on where you live and what player. Sidney Crosby couldn’t just walk around downtown Pittsburgh without getting noticed, for example.

Then again, [Bobby Ryan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahbdzYgT8Go) did something like this right after he was traded to Ottawa.

It’s taken pretty seriously here in Thailand. There was even a drama series on TV back in the 1980s about a group of badminton players. Like all Thai TV it was crappy as all get out, but I enjoyed watching the opening montage of each episode. That showed the players all doing these really serious badminton warm-ups, almost like they were preparing for battle. It was supposed to be serious, but it looked comical.
