Know how some movies open with a spectacular chase scene, with our renegade cop/rougue agent hero chasing some baddie all over town, causing car wrecks and smashing up businesses and sending people flying over sides of bridges to avoid his careening car? And then his bosses are so pleased with Our Hero that they give him the impossible task that is the main plot of the movie? Well, IWLTS the movie shift to focus on one of the Innocent Bystanders who is injured or financially ruined by the damage done to their property and follow their lives as they try to recover from the random violence that destroyed their life. And it would be even cooler if they set out to avenge themselves upon the Hero and brought him to justice to pay for all the destruction he left in his wake. Oh! And IW also LTS a movie where people live in average-size houses with non-designer created interiors (especially if they are young and just starting out in the Big City) where they turn out the lights and lock their doors when they leave the house! ---

Though there _is_ a trend towards this, it’s not universal - Dragon Age and Mass Effect both let you be female protagonists, and though they tend to be shapely/sexy, they’re no more so than the male protagonist models. I’m currently playing Kingdoms of Amalur, and that’s true for that one as well, and SWTOR was good in that way too. Shooters, though, yeah, it’s always bikinis and gravity-defying boobs. ---

It can be done. Like you said, I love Mass Effect because it allows my char to be womanly as well as badass. I don’t want her to be mannish. I don’t mind being her shapely, and attractive - but I don’t want her to be only that, or to have the focus on that. ---

I would love to see the end of the rom-com. That inexplicably will probably never happen, so I would like to see one where a young, cute movie heroine not only IS able to attract men, but picks the biggest richest alpha male who promptly drop-kicks the dogged, nerdy stalkery suitor of his girlfriend straight to the moon. So long, loser! The. End. ---

I would like to see a home improvement show that holds a camera shot for more than 2.5 seconds so that I can see what the hell is going on. And get rid of those goddamn zoooooom lenses. ---

IWLTS… - A by-the-numbers loose-cannon-cop movie where all the main characters, hero and villain both, are women, and it’s never seen as strange. - Any film or television show where the protagonists smoke cigarettes without it being a symbol of their self-loathing or self-destructive tendancies - A TV sitcom about a young married couple who are both kind of stupid and childlike but still nice people - A Bioware-style RPG where you can’t get romantic with your party members - A comic strip, written by a woman, about a little girl - like Calvin and Hobbes if Calvin was female. - A movie set in the modern day that closely borrows the themes of the Ring of the Nibelungs, as interpreted by Shaw. - A movie where the Chinese army are the good guys, or are an important partner to the good guys. ---

More TV shows and movies that portray retarded kids realistically. Very nearly all portrayals show them as warm, loving, gentle, innocent kids. I want to see more that have temper control problems, hygiene issues, a willful streak, problems telling the truth, and other less endearing characteristics like we see in real life settings where we work with such kids. ---

I would like to see less crudity, and less gratuitous violence and nudity, on TV and movies. I’d also like to see proper shutter speeds, steadicams, and edits longer than 5 seconds more often.
