There’s nothing that quite says “You’re a Grownup” as much as buying SIX FUDGSICLES from the icecream man and putting 4 in the freezer for later. Purchasing power, baby! ---

Ahhh the ice cream man. Memories! They are still around here, but only in the “hood”. My favorites were the red/white/blue bomb pops and Bubblegum-in-a-Toe. I liked orange pushups too but I could get those at the corner-store. ---

In my little town, what we had was a guy on a bicycle-like contraption who sold popsicles for a dime (yeah, I’m that old). All he had was popsicles, but we still called him the ice cream man. But it was something to watch a bunch of kids playing out in the front yards rush home to get that dime when we first heard the bells. ---
