ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (AP) – Gasoline isn’t the only thing that’s costing more as summer approaches. The National Ice Cream Retailers Association says ice cream prices are going up, too. Executive director Linda Udderback blames the rise on what she calls a “perfect storm.” Prices for ice cream’s essential ingredients - butter, milk, vanilla and chocolate - are on the rise. Udderback predicts the average cost for the frozen treat will go up between 20 and 30 percent. —Ice cream is my _only vice_, dammit (since my doctor, despite my pleadings, refuses to prescribe laudanum, and I _know_ he has some!). I’m going to have to take to a life of crime to support the Chunky Monkey on my back. I’ll be mainlining Häagen Dazs by July . . . ---

It’s hard to make a getaway in an ice-cream truck, 'cause it plays “Turkey in the Straw” really, really fast when you speed. ---

If I eat a pint of ice cream at one sitting, the consequences are not worth the enjoyment. On the other hand, forcing myself to stop halfway through a pint of Ben & Jerry’s has become an excellent test of my willpower. ---

I didn’t think there could be an ice cream better than Haagen Dazs. I was wrong. _Don’t_ try Godiva brand ice cream, if you don’t want to add another unholy addiction to your list. But if you do, try the milk chocolate. ::swoon:: ---

My new(est) addiction is Starbucks Java Chip. I know, I’m adding even more money to the evil empire … but I grew up in New England, land of amazing fresh ice cream, and now I’m in LA, land of Baskin-Robbins. I came over to MPSIMS contemplating starting a thread about blowing the low-carb diet (and eating blueberry pancakes for breakfast today at work) then I saw Evie’s post. ---

**Eve** , you are thinking too small. The way to do this properly, is to go to Vermont, case the Ben & Jerry factory closely, notice when the trucks are leaving to make their deliveries and hijack one (or several) of the 18-wheelers from the factory or on the highway. Alternatively, you could kidnap one of their herds of cows and hold it for ransom 😃 ---

Edy’s Dreamery Tiramisu. Trust meeeeeeeee. There used to be a brand of gelato available around here that hurt. It was so good, it was like you were forced to choose between eating it and having three years sucked off your lifespan with eat bite and you were choosing the gelato and it was just that good. ---

I have a practically empty 10 (or 15, who knows) cubic-foot chest freezer (get your mind out of the gutter) in the basement, and now my mission is to fill it with ice cream. Last night I watched an episode of Queer Eye, and the family had at least 8 half-gallons of various ice creams in their freezer…all in play. I think I could fit at least 25 half-gallons in my freezer, and a least one pint of Godiva Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Ice Cream (better known in my house as “oh, god, yes, yes!”) Since I may have to give up decent ice cream completely in late summer, I don’t want to have too much stored up, so if there’s any left by the Fourth of July, there could be an ice cream party at my place. Could be…no promises. ---
