What are these “pints” of ice cream of which you speak? Is ice cream sold in units smaller than five-gallon tubs? When did this happen? This is an abomination! Mark my words, these “pints” of ice cream are unholy! They will bring the wrath of God down upon us all! It’s a Communist plot, I tell you! Somebody alert Merle Haggard! ---

Okay, I know this will be the equivalent of social suicide in this thread, but… I don’t like ice cream with “stuff” in it. I like plain chocolate, French vanilla, and Breyer’s Peach (I don’t think you can classify peaches as “stuff”, can you?) Yeah, yeah…good thing I have this screen between me and youze. I just know you’re throwing things at me. ---

One of my favorite ice creams has to be Trauth blackberry cordial. I could eat buckets of this stuff, so I guess it’s good I can’t find it much anymore. Trauth is a Cincinnati/Northern Ky. company. Anyone remember Frusen Glädjé? It was a Haagen-Daas knockoff-they actually sued over it. I loved that stuff. Up until it disappeared anyway. ---

I think you should all pity poor, lactose-intolerant me. I haven’t eaten ice cream in a year. And there are days when the idea of being in the hospital for three days with an ileus almost seems worth it… like when B&J’s Fudge Brownie goes on two-for-one sale. Or Breyer’s coffee ice cream. (sigh) ---

I’m pratically in a food-coma now because of this thread. I’ve obsessed over ice-cream all day so after dinner I went to the local KaleidoScoops Ice Cream and got a waffle cone with **two** scoops of their scrummy _Tiramisu_. ---

Yeah, some of the specialty flavors are great, but I’m also happy with good old Breyers chocolate. ISTR from working at Swensens in my teenage years that at one point they had a semisweet chocolate ice cream that was damn good. I haven’t seen any D.C. or Maryland Dopers mention Gifford’s yet, so I’ll do the honors. We used to have dinner at my grandmother’s house on Sundays when I was growing up, always with an ice cream roll from Gifford’s for dessert. My hands-down favorite was the one with a core of orange sherbet in a roll of chocolate ice cream - yummy! ---
