So even though Washington state (and others) passed a law banning law enforcement from wearing face masks to hide their identities, it’s not possible for the state to enforce it against federal workers. ICE showed up this morning (Good Friday) at the DMV in a small town near me in Western PA. Apparently they ran to the group of men in line to renew their CDL licenses, tackled and handcuffed them and loaded them on a bus to jail. Never checked any IDs. These were people of color of course. Someone posted the information on the local Facebook page saying they were embarrassed to live in this area. And all the racist pigs rained down. I normally never participate in any of these kinds of posts but this time I did. Just a few well placed comments. Then I shut it down. I am more than embarrassed. I have a burning rage. ---

My god @Ellecram My Wife and I are white bread as they come. We are also moderate liberal voters. _We will be next on the list._ My Wife asked me to teach her how to shoot. That stunned me. (I’ve been shooting since I was 11 yo). So I taught her. She has her own handgun now. She now has her CCW. I go to class in 2 weeks for mine. Neither of us wants to carry. But would like to be able to if it comes down to it. That’s how fucked up DJT has made this. ICE can disappear anyone they want to. My wife was once surrounded by a pack of coyotes on a walk, so that is also a concern. I don’t know if the coyotes where republicans. But she may carry when walking in the mountains alone. ---

And they will lose their shit for sure. But I can’t keep silent anymore. I never hand a handgun except the one I inherited from my father and sold years ago. But I am strongly considering getting one and taking lessons. So you are a few steps ahead of me! Stay vigilant and prepared. (There are a lot of huge river rocks where I live so maybe they will eventually crawl under them at some point.) ---

I hope the people on that grand jury understand the first amendment well enough not to indict. I hope even the right/republican/maga grand jurors understand that if this is allowed to go through, _they’re_ not safe from it either. Maybe the next president will sic the DOJ on every facebook user that ever posted something containing the phrase “Let’s Go Brandon”. ---

I came here to post the update that she’s back in France, too. The NYT article doesn’t mention shackles, but it does say > Ms. Ross-Mahé was greeted at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport by her three adult children. She was still dressed in her prison wear — orange shoes, sweatpants and a gray sweater, covered in stains and holes, according to one of her sons. She was in a state of shock, and was physically and spiritually exhausted after the ordeal. Maybe that’s not worse to travel in than the nightgown she was wearing when they grabbed her. The whole story is an embarrassment to the US, as well as invite being tragic for her and her family. And I’m sure the only uncommon thing about the story is that she had the French embassy on her side. ---

Someone suggested changing the name of the agency to _Natiomal_ Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which would make its acronum “NICE”. Trump immediately approved, figuring this would screw with the media. If he goes through with it, I’d suggest that they continue to call it “ICE”.
