Your rock solid confidence in your ability to predict the future was tedious as fuck in the summer of '24 during the presidential race, and it’s tedious as fuck now. You simply don’t know as much as you think you know.
Not in one place. A thousand here, a thousand there has much less impact. Iran is turning out a million protesters in Tehran. Every night.
As I recall, my prediction “last summer”, by which I mean two summers ago, was that if Biden dropped out, Trump would win.
I’d rather be tedious and right than pants-shitting-terrified and wrong.
Iran also has no social media and no internet access. Our ability to protest the regime is far broader than theirs.
You are comparing him to the Clintons? A guy who spent the better part of 2025 in custody, including at CECOT in El Salvador, and was only released about a month ago and who is facing another hearing in February that bears on his freedom to the Clintons?
Really? One of these things is not like the other.
By your logic, he should still be in CECOT.
250 people or more were exiled to CECOT and you are hanging your hat one exception.
And that it happened at all tells us much more than that one guy has (maybe) gotten out?
An exception which I am being told shouldn’t exist because Trump can ignore court orders whenever he wants and nobody can stop him.
I linked Trump admin ignoring several court orders above. I am sure you can find more if you want.
IIRC in the Garcia case the Supreme Court weighed in and Trump wasn’t willing to snub them as he has lower courts.
Then get back to me when the Supreme Court weighs in on the cases you linked.
Why don’t you get back to us when a majority of the court rulings against him actually stop him?
OK. I’m back.
Not that I doubt your recollection skills, but could you provide a cite of you saying this. I’d like to see it in context.
Because when I search, I see you saying pretty supportive things of Harris, and suggesting she is the better pick.
You were even posting stats that showed she was ahead of Biden in polling.
But the best one is this one:
So reconcile that with your claim here that you thought if Biden dropped out, Trump would win. It sounds good now, but I think you are full of shit.
You were tediously confident Harris could not lose, from the moment she got in until deep into election night. You were tediously confident Biden would never drop out. And now you’re tediously confident that Trump will be somehow held back from ultimately destroying our country. Your ability to be wrong is only matched by your absolute confidence that you’re always fucking right. You just do not know what’s gonna happen. Maybe just admit that once in a while
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Sure.
[quote=“Smapti, post:17, topic:1003428”]If Biden drops out, Trump wins.[/quote]
[quote=“Smapti, post:1835, topic:688907”]I’ve been saying for three weeks that IF Biden drops out, THEN the Democrats are doomed.[/quote]
[quote=“Smapti, post:169, topic:1004540, full:true”] This is a disaster. Trump is going to win and it’s going to be the Democrats" fault. [/quote]
(I have no idea why these aren’t formatting correctly.)
Because I hoped she would win and I wanted her to win, and boosting for her was the better option than being a Chicken Little. I don’t regret it and I would’ve said the same thing even if I thought she was a bad choice, because you can’t win a race if you don’t act like you expect to win it.
Maybe if the rest of the Democratic party wasn’t overrun with pessimists and doomsayers who gave up the ghost the second Biden had a scratchy voice he’d still be president right now and we’d all be sleeping soundly at night.
There was white space between the quote tags and quoted text. Discourse doesn’t like that.
Or, Biden may have lost in a landslide. Your guess is no more valid than mine.
Damn it, I just deleted that link last week.
So you admit you’ll just repeat whatever makes you feel good, even if it might be utter bullshit.
You didn’t know that Biden would drop out, even as you repeated that he absolutely, positively wouldn’t. You didn’t know Harris was gonna lose, even though you repeated over and over and over that she was absolutely, positively gonna win and it would not even be close. And now you absolutely do not know that Trump and his cronies will be stopped by the courts from doing more and more heinously illegal shit to get his way, and yet you say, again with unyielding confidence, he will not be allowed to do X, Y and Z.
Forgive me if I don’t share your confidence in predicting the future, yet again.
Would it be better if we all just crawled into a hole and waited for death?
