I never heard back from my email. We will pay whatever it is for three days. I need a change of scenery. I will call them if no reply by tomorrow night. Countdown to my boss leaving has begun. Guam. Closer to his family in Japan. More money. Canā€™t blame him. Will miss him though. He was not a micromanager which is good. His job is announced on USA Jobs. Pay is more than I make but I am perfectly happy where I am. Twill be interesting to see who replaces him. May be the death knell. Willy Nilly. Donā€™t really care too much at this point. Our department has imploded and I am a smidge embarrassed to work there anymore. And after some voodoo magic the TV started irking again. Keepin appt for new equip. ---

Today the Big Giant Head (as Iā€™ve taken to calling our building boss) announced all our shifts except one are moving 2 hours later; the exception is an hour. The general reaction from my co-irkers was: while the bosses were more like Starting in the middle of next month I may be 8pm-2am pretty much. :smack: ---

What did I call him beforeā€¦ PWAISDN? (Partner without an interesting Straight Dope name) At any rate, today was our third anniversary, so we went for a nice dinner at a fairly spendy (For us, at least. Probably chump change to the expense account set) place up the road in Napa county. Yes, that Napa, the wine Napaā€¦no, not The French Laundry) We did something utterly bizarre and foolhardy - left our phones in the car and actually had a conversation rather than being like so many other people around here that interact only with their phones. Honestly I think theyā€™d text their dinner desires to the waiter if they could. ---

Mr Fabulous, to whom Iā€™m supposed to start handing this project over, hasnā€™t shown up. Iā€™m not impressed; my officemates who will need to be working with him onward, even less. We had him around at another time: he moved dates three times, eventually showed up, provided a ton of information that weā€™d been missing (and which should already have been available from other people, except this company doesnā€™t believe in conmunyikashon) and promptly toddled off. He doesnā€™t speak a word of French despite having spent years in France; this doesnā€™t endear him to the locals at all. Mrs Amazing, the other internal expert who knows a different set of things nobody else does know (because again komyuneecazione) and who is supposed to come help with testing doesnā€™t speak any English. The way forward appears to be lined with many, many hours of not being able to communicate even if you do want to. I came in to work despite having what already seems like a Cold of Doom because Mr Fabulous was coming in, but now Iā€™m spending the morning doing a lot of not much. My officemate whoā€™s back from vacation today is spending it getting all his passwords reset. Maybe you can help, **gotti**? And congratulations on the anniversary, you strange person who has conversations out loud you. ---

I was wondering about that - thanks for enlightening me. MIL was asking last night if she could donate a kidney. This is the same MIL whoā€™s got macular degeneration, a pacemaker, and who is upset because her doctor wonā€™t do back surgery on her and she suspects itā€™s because of her ageā€¦ \*\*FCD \*\*was quick to point out that the surgery could possibly kill her, even if they were willing to do it. So that conversation ended fast. We had a t-storm come thru last night - much-needed precip. Our heat wave is supposed to last thru Thurs, and on Fri, when weā€™re taking the inlaws back to Ocala, our highs will be low 80s. :smack: Itā€™s been miserable for them - FIL is supposed to walk every day, but itā€™s so hot and humid, he canā€™t bear more than about 10 minutes outside. Itā€™s no better in Ocala. I feel so sorry for them on so many levels. And itā€™s gotten me thinking about when we hit our 80s. Aging ainā€™t for sissies. But itā€™s another day in paradise and Iā€™ve got a pile of crap on my desk to get off my desk. Happy Tuesday!! ---

Happy Toosday! Woke up at 5, decided to get up since I forgot to order groceries yesterday. We will be off (Iā€™m always a bit off - I know) to the park in a bit. Ripple is hanging all over me saying I love you mommy when are we leaving I loooooooooove you. Amazing how sweet people, and critters, can be when they want something. Morning all. Actually did something constructive upon awakening and replaced the internal battery in my computerā€¦and itā€™s still working, so perhaps I have done something right. Time will tell. Heading back up to 98F today and theyā€™re giving us a 20% chance of showers, but Iā€™m doubtful. Soccer practice will be the easier drills, no need to cause heat exhaustion. **Alien** , I donā€™t worry about those things; there are fundamental laws of the universe that say utility bills will always be not understandable. As long as the numbers are about what you expect, just pay itā€¦ **FCM** , hope the in-laws manage ok. **Nava** , exactly how does that company stay in business?
