# Ichthyophthirius

How do Doper aquarists treat it? Lifeguard hasn’t done squat.

When I was a kid we used tetracycline, but that’s not a [treatment listed here](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichthyophthirius_multifiliis#Treatment).

I’ve used API’s super ich cure to treat guppies, bristlenose plecos, and loaches (half dose for the loaches). The only time it failed me was in a coldwater tank on a weather loach that was already fairly runty and sickly.  
It works fast, especially if you can raise the tank temp to 82+.
