I have a feeling this is an easy one, but I canNOT find a definite identification.

I’m in north Texas. Plant has no flowers that I’ve ever seen, and small, soft oval leaves with silvet-gray undersides set as opposite pairs.

Curious if it’s edible (to people OR livestock) and if it’s native etc.
Thanks. 🙂

I don’t know what it is but we have a lot of it in our yard (NE Kansas). It’s a spreading weed, kinda like crabgrass, and if you break the stem a milky white sap oozes out, right?

My wife is the plant expert. She did some googling and says it is spotted spurge or prostrate spurge.

Spurge. Spotted spurge is real common in Southern California. I hate that shit!

Damn! Ninja’ed!

Is it a succulent? The stems look juicy like that. I was going to suggest purslane, but your plant has opposing leaves and purslane doesn’t.

Some of the many species of spurge look similar.

ETA: As suggested above.

Ah, didn’t realize there’s a few species if spurge. I saw spurge on a few “Weed ID” webpages but images i found on subsequent googling didn’t match up.

Not succulent. The stems are slightly woody, in fact.
