**Neutron Star** , as entertaining and cathartic as it would no doubt be to rub this asshole’s face in it as the cops are picking him up, I’d personally be inclined to minimize my involvement to that necessary to have him convicted. The reason? This guy sounds like he has no particular thing to occupy his time. You don’t want to get him fixated on you, as happened to my friend. His story was much like yours - he had a roommate who moved in with a (worthless criminal) boyfriend. Soon the roommate split with boyfriend and moved out - but he didn’t. He stayed, and started to steal stuff to buy drugs. My friend called in the cops. Unfortunately, he made a big production out of busting the fellow, having put up with a lot of bullshit from him. The result? This worthless piece of human shit soon got out of jail, and having nothing better to do started to harrass my friend with threatening phone calls and letters and the like. Thing is, my friend had lots of better things to do with his life than get into a battle with this scumbag, and have lots of conversations with cops, worries about escalation and violence, etc. But the scumbag didn’t. Harrassment went on for months. ---
