You really need to walk into the local police station, and talk to the highest ranking person you can find. And do the same at the local state or county prosecutor’s office. At the very least get the official excuse as to why they’re sitting on their asses. ---

you don’t know they’re “sitting on their asses”. they may be : A. busy w/more serious cases B. building their case w/additional stuff C. waiting on the prosecutor office This is a (relatively) low property crime. I know of an assaultive crime that took 3 months from accusation to arrest. ’ ---

That’s understandable, but what isn’t quite as understandable is why they wouldn’t just _tell_ me that instead of saying that it would only take a day or two after I filled out the affidavit. And FWIW, there really aren’t all that many more serious cases in this town to deal with. I generally see about 10-15 offenses listed in the crime blotter each week, and that even includes extremely minor crimes, such as reports of items worth less than $20 stolen from front porches. ---

“Maybe he’s just acting stupid to infiltrate a gang of international idiots!” - Homer Simpson Okay, I just called the police again. I figured if I called a little before nine that I’d have a better chance of talking to the officer in charge before he went out on patrol. I figured right. It appears that the delay was the fault of the bank; they’ve been slow in getting the surveillance tapes to the police. According the officer, though, the tapes will be hand delivered at 1 o’clock this afternoon and a warrant will be typed up afterwards. Dave should be going to jail tomorrow! 🙂 Finally! ---

I wonder does this also mean that even if he could make bail he mostly likely won’t be able to until Monday because of the holiday? I would eat my turkey with added glee if this is the case. ---
