Survey tech. crash-lands on a planet populated entirely by women. They reproduce through parthenogenesis, done by machine to keep the planet alive. They think he is a monster, because the Mothers always told stories about Men and our hero isn’t the Doc Savage type. The title I keep remembering is “Amazon Planet,” but Google is of no help, and Amazon even less. My bet is that the Dope can identify this book in less than 15 minutes. ---

That sounds really familiar - was it a short story? It seems to me I read it in an anthology not too long ago. ---
