(Well, technically it’s an instrumental piece, but…) [Here it is.](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idTPiHS1g58) [Midomi.com](http://Midomi.com) didn’t have a clue, and contacting the video’s author got no response.

It sure sounds _familiar_, but I can’t quite place it. Can anyone help me out, or do I need to scoop out my temporal lobe with a melon baller to free myself of the lingering mystery?

Sounds like it was lifted from a Terminator or Terminator-like movie soundtrack…

It sounds like stock music (the production seems too simple for a major film score) in which case good luck finding it - but I couldn’t help thinking of [the soundtrack](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEKo0d94_xE) to _Mechwarrior II_, the classic old PC game.
