# ID this blasphemous pop art

I was thinking today about a rather infamous pop art painting I’d heard about years ago. It was a fairly scandalous piece, but it was pretty simple - it was a depiction of Da Vinci’s _Last Supper_ fresco with one significant edition - the figure of Jesus has a comic strip word caption balloon over his head that read “Separate checks.” Apparently it riled up a lot of good Christian folk when it came out. Anybody remember this?

Same idea, but no. The one I remember was a identical copy (or very near replication) of Da Vinci’s original.

I doubt that was the version you remember. It can’t be more than five years old, and has to be a product of the Internet.

It’s possible the rest of the balloons were added later. I think there were a few other versions out there as well.
I just googled “Last Supper” and “Separate check” and clicked on images.
