My daughter came across this photo on lolcats, and wishes she knew what kind of bug [this](http://icanhascheezburger.com/upcoming/page/12/) is. Help? ---

It’s a mantis, possibly in the genus _Creobroter_. It resembles _C. gemmatus_, the [jeweled flower mantis](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creobroter_gemmatus) from Indonesia. ---

I dunno, looks like a cat to me… (Seems like the page number designation has shifted – I believe [this](http://images.icanhascheezburger.com/completestore/2008/8/13/ohlookitare128631208251586331.jpg) is what you were wanting to link to; and I think it’s just a regular praying mantis, you just don’t see 'em with their wings spread out very often.) ---

You link didn’t work for me. [Here](http://images.icanhascheezburger.com/completestore/2008/8/13/ohlookitare128631208251586331.jpg) see if this works. It is just an exotic mantis. I believe it may be related to [this](http://mantishaven.com/store/media/pomale.jpg) found on [this](http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://mantishaven.com/store/media/af.jpg&imgrefurl=http://mantishaven.com/store/mantises.html&h=275&w=355&sz=27&hl=en&start=2&um=1&tbnid=HCsIa08deucguM:&tbnh=94&tbnw=121&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dexotic%2Bmantis%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26rlz%3D1G1GGLQ_ENUS279%26sa%3DN) site ---
