# ID this caterpillar please? (yes, I haz a pic)

Seen with a few of its brethren in NOLA so it’s probably pretty common … lil’ help?

Bonus q: any common skin reactions to those spines? They look like they might irritate.

Yeah, probably got it in one. Looks like it’s common in/under the nearby live oaks, and the stinging spines on the back cause a burning or itchy reaction.

It’s a general and fairly reliable rule that this is true of any hairy/spiny caterpillar…
