# ID this Halloween costume

There was a group of teens that came to the house trick-or-treating last night. One of them was dressed in long hair and fake beard, wearing Jesus-style robes, and dribbling a basketball.

My first thought was Moses Malone. Which is actually pretty clever. But would teens today even know who he was? Any other ideas what this costume could have been?

Also, feel free to share any other puzzling or just creative costumes you saw last night.

Huh. I was not aware of the Jesus Saves thing. I kinda like my answer better. (Mentally filing the idea away for a future costume.)

I heard a similar joke except involving a hockey player. (Gretsky, perhaps, or maybe Bobby Orr.)

I think the oldest version was:

“Jesus saves! But Espo gets the rebound!”

And on the other side of the crease:

“Only the Lord saves more than Bernie Parent!”

“Bernie Parent saves - at 1st National Bank.”
