A movie made probably late '70s to mid '80s where the stained glass windows in a church come to life and try to kill someone. That’s it. That’s all I got. But I can see the stained glass knight jump out of the window, shattering it, waving his stained glass sword. ---

That must be the movie that the OP is remembering. BTW, the Wikipedia article mentions that the knight character was the first fully computer-generated one in a movie. ---
