Okay. This is driving me crazy. I’ve been trying to remember the name of a WWII movie. It’s set in a castle in the Black Forest. Several POW’s are trying to escape, and are building and hiding a glider inside the castle. They fly kites to judge the air currents. One of the POW’s is blind, and another is a scientist who is hiding his identity from the Nazis. I’m sorry, I can’t think of any of the actors’ names; I watched about half of it at two in the morning. It was so good I’ve wanted to see it again, but I don’t know what it’s called! AAARGH! Any help is appreciated. ---

It sounds a little like the incredibly strange movie [Castle Keep](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064137/), but that didn’t have POW’s in it. ---

No prob. And there really was a [Colditz Castle](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colditz_Castle) and a [glider](http://www.colditz-4c.com/glider.htm), though most of the movie is made up, IIRC. ---

The PBS show, Nova, did a [documentary on Colditz](http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/naziprison/), including the construction of a replica of the famous glider. ---
