And has it run its course? Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any images of hit, but to describe it: The hair is cut pretty short, but the very front of the head is cut just a little bit longer, so it’s like a small topknot or comes to a point. The only (eh. . . somewhat) notable person I could think of was Ricco Rodrigues (ex MMA-er) from “Celebrity Reham.” Anyway, wasn’t quite sure where to put this. D ---

I think he’s talking about something more like the second one, where it comes to a point, sometimes only in front, sometimes most of the way along the head (like a mini-pointy short mohawk). I group this under what I call “little boy” haircuts, that young men wear because they can, they still have all their hair and they like to show that off, as opposed to us older types who don’t have enough hair on top to pull it off. I’m still seeing a lot of them, so I don’t think it’s run its course yet. Roddy ---

It’s run its course for the super hip (the Gen Y kids around here are all wearing versions of the [Robert Pattinson](http://www.google.com/images?q=robert%20pattinson&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1152&bih=516) do - but Gen X still seem to be holding strong to it. Yeah, that’s a fauxhawk. You push the hair up, but don’t shave off the extra. I’d say it’s a rather loose fauxhawk, though. ---

**Earl** , since it’s been answered I hope you don’t mind me asking all these haircut experts… what was the cut called that became popular back in the 80’s where the hair was left uncut to midway down the head, then flat cropped like a [thatched roof](http://i.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01090/property-graphics-_1090943a.jpg) and the lower portion was trimmed very close to the scalp the rest of the way down? You usually saw it on guys with fine hair, or at least it seemed to lay better with them. ---
