# ID this red fungus/mushroom/whatever?

The smell was pretty bad, somewhere between feet and ass. Maybe feet that had been up an ass.

Found in a friend’s yard today, in South East Florida.

It’s a species of [stinkhorn](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phallaceae). Possibly a species of _Colus_ or _Clathrus._

Actually, it looks more like [_Colus hirundinosus_,](http://www.mushroomexpert.com/colus_pusillus.html)but that doesn’t seem to be known from Florida (although it occurs in the Caribbean).
