In the 1970s (or maybe the very early 1980s), I caught a movie on TV. It told three unrelated (or very loosely related) horror tales, the only one of which I remember involved a curse from a Roma woman against the teenager who had killed her daughter in a car accident. Anyone remember this one?

The only trilogys I remember are Trilogy of Terror with Karen Black and my favorite-Creepshow 2.

There was a 70s movie called Asylum (the first non-kid movie I saw in a theater). It had four stories, but I don’t think it includes the one you mentioned. Others in the series are:
Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors (1965), Torture Garden (1967), The House That Dripped Blood (1971), Tales from the Crypt (1972), , Vault of Horror (1973) and From Beyond the Grave (1974).
Maybe it’s one of those?

Sound similar to _Thinner_.

Yeah, much like Thinner - but well before.

Thanks for the suggestions above, folks. Looks like there are more anthology horror movies than I thought. I’ll keep looking

Maybe you’re mixing details of _Thinner_ with details of another story?

There’s a movie from 1972 that had three stories named _Encounter with the Unknown_.

The first story seems similar (sorta).

That’s it! Thanks. The other titles suggested seemed too scary (something I would have instinctively avoided as a nervous kid) but “Encounter with the Unknown” is the kind of title that could easily have lured me in (and obviously, I was confusing the details with “Thinner”).

Interesting, I went and looked through the titles on this page, but didn’t see a prospective match:

> **[List of horror anthology films](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_horror_anthology_films)**
>
> This is a list of horror anthology films.
> Dead of Night (1945) helped to popularize the format for horror anthology films—although they had existed as far back as Unheimliche Geschichten(1919) or Waxworks (1924)—and British company Amicus made several such films in the 1960s and 1970s. From Beyond the Grave (1974), Trilogy of Terror (1975), Heavy Metal (1981), Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Creepshow (1982), The Company of Wolves (1984), Creepshow 2 (1987), Tales from the Darkside: The Movie...

Turns out it’s because [that movie](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encounter_with_the_Unknown) isn’t on there. Seems like it should be. Anyone want to be a wiki editor?
