Hopefully the mods won’t find anything wrong with the lyrics as I can’t find a trace of them on the sites I visit. Yet I don’t think it is an obscure song.

Well I see this elicited a lot of answers. However, some older Australians have probably heard it. After a lot of research someone (not me) was able to find out that it is called Captain Captain (Empty Horses) by Moscos and Stone which hit our charts in October 1978.

Older Australian checking in. I have never heard of the song or the group 🙂
