# Identify this spider, if you can...

It was dark brown, and very hairy. It’s body was long, not circular and bulgy like a typical widow. Almost shaped like two connecting tear drops. I live in the suburbs of northern Virginia, if that helps.

It looks like a classic North American 404 Spider to me.

(In other words…the link is giving me a 404 - Not Found - error.)

Looks like a [wolf spider](https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1399&bih=804&q=wolf+spider&gbv=2&oq=wolf+spider&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&gs_l=img.3..0l10.744.2480.0.2647.11.8.0.3.3.0.129.622.3j5.8.0...0.0.KiGrAzWjqZM). Fearsome looking but mostly harmless (at least in U.S.).

Dude, any spider that hunts _wolves_ ain’t harmless.
