That’s pretty compelling evidence that the age of the bride is irrelevant. At the very least you have to concede that if the group “unwilling Indian brides over 18” are just as unhappy and mistreated as "“unwilling Indian brides under 18” then it’s not rational to assume that age pays a major role. So no, I don’t think its a good point at all. It’s no different to pointing at the violent crime rate amongst Black crack addicts and claiming that it’s caused by race. ---

Then again those are prolly the same dudes who dated the hottest girls in the class simply b/c she was hot. Stop being so fucking superfical and find an amazing woman with a cool personality!!! She may not be beatiful or young…but come on…there are tons of twenty and thirty somethings who are looking for someone! Not to mention that a lot of the dudes are basicly taking advantage of the girls. They think " Oh I can’t score with women my age. I’ll take advantage of teen girls and pressure them into sex so I can feel manly/ like I’ve scored" Oh and Cesario…we’re all familiar with your criteria…The big problem with that is how would you failsafe it so that really creepy pedophiles wouldn’t pressure little kids into parroting the right answers, so they could take advantage of them? " Oh they are consenting! They REALLY want to have sex!" Sorry but I saw that sort of distorted thinking with the rape case at my junoir high. ---

I mean, it’s not like this society just so happens to see women as lesser than men and coincidentally also allows marriage to young girls to happen. If you marry them off before they’re too young to really be able to question or talk back, they’re probably never going to really think of themselves as equal. This is just another way of keeping them down. A big part of helping girls in this situation isn’t just telling society “Don’t rape anyone.” It’s about seeing women and girls as deserving of the rights that men and boys have, about educating them and ensuring that this society sees that this even is rape. ---
