I’m reading this thread in disbelief. Do you people not have strict pooper scooper laws in your towns? Try that shit (pun intended) around here and I believe you’ll get a fine. I think we’ve had that law for well over 20 years.

I remember what it was like before that though. You couldn’t walk down the sidewalk of the street where I lived without looking down. It was truly a minefield. Like every 3-4 feet there’d be another pile.

> But it’s gross if he poops in my car.

Gotta love the logic. It reminds me of a few months ago when someone bummed a cig off of me. “Thanks man. I’d buy my own, but do you know how much these things COST?”

Usually property lines are set back 10 feet from the curb, meaning that the so-called public “right-of-way” extends beyond both curbs by 10 feet. This is so the municipality can place sidewalks, utility poles, etc. in the right-of-way without having to get your permission.

> [@pabstist](#):

> Well then, why when I had my property surveyed last summer did the property lines go right to the edge of the road? It’s marked that way, matched what was already in the books, and the official map filed with with the town shows it that way and was not challenged.

That’s why I threw in qualifiers like “_almost_ certainly” and “usually.” 😉

Having property lines run out to the curb is not normal practice in most areas. Why? For one thing, if they ever have to widen the road by so much as an inch, the municipality is going to have to take some of your land by eminent domain.

I’m a bit of an expert on dogs and cars, since when our guide dog was still a breeder we’d drive her 50 miles from our house to Guide Dogs in San Rafael. She was trained to go before she got into the car, and GDB had a nice grassy space near the parking lot for her to go when she got out of the car, and she never once had to poop on someone’s lawn on the way - most of which was on Freeway anyway.
A dog who just has to go a block from home is either badly trained, a puppy, or on his last legs.

Dogs do have favorite places, but you can train them to go only in places which are appropriate. Ours goes in the park, never on someone’s lawn. Any my dog walking jacket has multiple bags stuffed into multiple pockets just in case I forget to bring a couple.

If it happens again, I’m for bagging it and dumping it on her car myself - or maybe on her front porch.

My neighbor picked up his dogs’ poop and bagged it, but then threw it down the storm sewer drain. Shocked, shocked! he was to learn that it might not be a good idea to send bagged dog poop down into the Chesapeake Bay.

Tool.

Of course they can’t _walk_! There’s dog crap all over the sidewalks.

> Let me tell you another story about the same woman, the only other time I have dealt with her. We had an accident on my corner, and she being a nurse stopped to help. When she went to leave, she tried to back up into my driveway. Missing it completely, she drove through my picket fence and into a 2 foot wide pine tree. I was standing 10 feet away talking to a cop and we both watched the whole thing, which may or may not be the reason she offered to pay to fix the fence (which came to about $130). I’m trying not to imagine what she’ll do for her third strike!

Maybe the poop thing was an attempt to get back at you because she had to pay for your fence. People get grudges over the strangest things.

DC’s weird, the city property line starts in the middle of my front porch, my neighbor has the city property line running through his bay window, but we are still responsible for shoveling the sidewalk within 24 hours of snowfall.

Most don’t, on paper at least. I think the property lines thing is because it is an older city by US standards and lot lines got weird over the years. There was a woman who got a ticket for drinking in public once because she was drinking a glass of wine on her front porch. Some cop with nothing else to do proved she was actually on city property.

It’s time to start shitting on her front porch. Optionally light the bag on fire and run away.

But seriously, don’t most places have an ordinance against this? You know who the bitch is and where she lives. Just call the cops and have them write her a ticket.

Heh. In Huntington Beach, CA, the only thing you have to do to be “drinking in public” in your front yard, is to have the front gate open. You can be on the porch with your beer, and the cops’ll come and get you.

Well, they did most 4th of July weekends during the 90s. Maybe they’ve mellowed out since then.

I’m having trouble wrapping my mind around allowing the city to own that much of “my” property. Here, the city technically owns the boulevard (grass strip between the sidewalk and the street) but that’s only because there _is_ a sidewalk there. And it’s only three feet wide!

Heh, in Irvine you can be sitting in your garage drinking a beer and if the door is open, they can arrest you. But then, that’s Irvine - maybe if it was an expensive wine… 😛

Hell, in Texas, if you’re merely in a bar, you can be arrested for drinking in public.

The idea of owning a dog and not picking up the dogs’ feces is a
disgrace. It is time to confront these arrogant people who believe they
are above picking up their own dog’s feces.

Please share ideas, stories, and thoughts with us.

?Poovenge? The act of peacefully seeking revenge against lazy, careless,
arrogant, self loving, selfish, dog owners, who are not responsible
enough to pick up their dogs feces.

P.S Having someone responsible enough to put their dog poop in your garbage is better than them just leaving it lying around. I would much rather have their poop in my garbage than on my shoe!

Kids cant even play in parks without fear of dog poop!
