I’ve posted before about the family in back of us. I’ve already called the fuzz, so it’s not so much what should I _do_ about this, as I can’t believe it keeps happening. They burn shit. I have no idea what they burn but they always have a pile o’ burnin’ going on. At this point, our area is looking at a drought – hasn’t rained for a while and brush fires are a possibility. And still they burn. Mr. Cookie has gone over and said, hey, there’s a ban on burning without a permit. So they stopped for a while. Today, it hasn’t rained in a while, and guess what? They’re a burnin’! I think _they think_ if they have a burning monitor (he stands around and watches it) out there, it’s all cool. Uh, no. Anyway, I am truly sick of it, so I called the police. Dipshits. ---

Don’t call the police–call the Fire Department. The Fire Marshall will come out and give them a hefty ticket for unlawful burning of trash. ---

How about embedding some firecrackers beneath the ashes where they do their burning? Once they start their next fire and the firecrackers start banging off this will surely get their attention, and perhaps the attention of the police, especiallly if firecrackers are illegal in your area. Bonus points if they start burning early in the morning when people might still be asleep (you could then phone in a noise complaint). ---

My ex gave my son a bunch of fireworks that I didn’t want him to have. So I confiscated them _and just so’s he wouldn’t find them and blow them off one day_ I threw them into the fire pit. It was like a scene from Apocalypse Now. We had to belly crawl up to the house and cower behind vehicles to avoid getting bombed at. I cannot emphasize this enough. Danger! Danger! But a call to the fire marshall would be just dandy. Sorry for the mini-hijack. ---
