Pick it by the very base of the three legs - I’ve seen people with nice acute angles melted in red in the palm of their hands before now…I’m soooo glad I stopped teaching science!

One time my dad was working on a lawn mower, had one had in a bucket of gas cleaning the carb, and tightening the fuel tank bolts with the other, and a lit cigarette in mouth…nothing happened though.

I would suggest that saying “hot Techchick” is redundant…

I can remember my pappy working on a boat motor with gasoline all over the place while smoking. I asked him to put out the cig, and when he didn’t I said I was leaving, and went back into the house to watch while being ready to dial 911. Nothing happened though.
