Dear God, are some of these responses for real? He shouldn’t be a moderator? Really,? Because of a one time lapse (if that) in judgment? And being online, because that’s the criteria he used, is considered “targeted”? Argh. I want a planet reboot. ---

I also thought it weird to the point I didn’t respond. I’ve always assumed lots of people keep their sex/gender concealed on message boards, for a variety of good reasons, and I just don’t care. So I don’t see any humor in it, just weirdness. ---

The irony of all this for me is, lately, I’m online at the SDMB for maybe 5-15 minutes a week, mostly to see what the latest movie quote is and if I can come up with something good to follow it with. And today it got me involved in something like this. 🙂 ---

That’s what I think too, but why get butthurt over a little lie as an April Fools Day prank that lasts for an hour when they can be forgiving for someone fooling the whole board for years OTOH? The last time we rebooted our server, the local network disappeared, we rebooted again to fix the network, the files took a hike. we rebooted a third time, the phones started ringing nonstop. The other day one of my coworkers rebooted his phone, and it texted a picture of his lunch to his entire contact list. _ **And you want to reboot the whole planet?!** _ How do you know it’ll restart okay? What happens if we lose daylight hours? Or weekend time? Well, I wrote a witty rejoinder earlier today at work. But it seems I was too clever by far and left my office without hitting Submit! I am most bewildered by the people in the thread chuckling and saying they laughed and what a good joke this was. So someone private messages a bunch of people saying, hey, I’m actually a girl, and you’re a good friend of mine and I need to talk about this to someone. But it’s not true! …Ha? I don’t get it. Unless the humor is in, “ha ha, people were so stupid that they replied to me sincerely, losers.” This fuckin’ day. I swear. PS, if this makes me a humorless bitch I’ll happily accept that.
