Recently, for no apparent reason, IE has started forcing me to save any image I find on the 'net as a bitmap, rather than saving it as whatever file type it’s suppose to be. So I right-click on a jpg, try to save it, and I have no choice but to save it as a bmp. I’ve looked all over, and can find no option that would do this. Can anybody tell me what’s going on, and how to fix it? Jeff ---

your cache is full. Make it bigger or clean it out. \ --\> \ --\> \ (under the “general” tab and the “temporary internet files” section) ---

Ah, wonderful. Much better. May I ask, though, why having a full cache would cause IE to force me to save images as a much larger file type? What’s the connection between the cache and saving files to my HD, anyway? Jeff ---

It’s just a bug they seem to have no intention of fixing, since it’s been around for several versions. ---

My God! Thanks! I had this show up at the same time the IT guy upgraded a bunch of software on my system. I thought I was just going to have to live with it … . ---
