Brady, okay. Romo, maybe, too early to tell. But the guy couldn’t even keep a job away from _J.P. Losman_. What he \*should \* be thinking is “Thank God I’m still getting paid to put on a uniform! If only I could get out of the way of rushers, and if only I could ever have learned not to force throws into coverage, maybe _I_’d get some of this love, and _I_’d get to date Jessica Simpson.” ---

I wonder if Bledsoe currently thinks “wow, Romo is taking this team to places that I could not” or if he thinks “I could be doing what Romo is doing if they had kept me as the starter”- in other words, is he a realist or delusional. ---

If the Cowboys go to the Superbowl and end up playing the Patriots, I swear off the NFL forever. I hate both of those teams so much. There would be too many subplots to count. Romo vs. Brady (with Bledsoe once again on the sideline) Parcells vs. Belichick (teacher vs. student) America’s Team of the 90’s vs. America’s Team of the 21st Century I’m not worried, though. Both of them are going to choke in the playoffs. It’ll be Chicago vs. San Diego. ---

And with your scenario he ends up with 2 Super Bowl Rings without having to do any work. Not a bad trade-off, if you ask me. ---

[/QUOTE] At almost any other position this would be true. But at QB, it’s the starter’s ring. Steve Young has three Super Bowl rings. Two as a backup to Joe Montana, and “his” ring form SB XXIX when the 49ers beat the Chargers. ---

Agree- a guy who has made two tackles on special teams in more deserving of the ring than a backup QB who never gets off the bench. 🙂 Methinks Drew doesn’t wear his first one much, if at all. ---

[/QUOTE] He’s actually admitted that that ring feels hollow to him. As fans, though, we should give him much more credit for that ring than, say, Charlie Batch for last year behind Roethlisberger, because Bledsoe did win the AFC Championship against the Steelers to get the team to the Superbowl in the first place. As backups who don’t play in the Superbowl go, Bledsoe bears as much responsibility for the win as is possible. ---

Also of note is that during the Superbowl, when Madden was droning on about how the Patriots should take a knee and go into overtime, Belichick was on the sidelines telling Brady not to take at chances at all. As Brady strapped on his helmet and started heading into the huddle, Bledsoe yelled out to him: “Tom! Tom! FUCK that shit! You go sling the ball all over the field!” And the rest, as they say, is history. (As told by Tom Brady in an NFL Films interview with Steve Sabol.) ---

[/QUOTE] I usually agree with you but not on this. On many teams the back-up QB runs the scout team in practice for the Defense. For instance [Brunell played Brees for the skins](http://www.dailypress.com/sports/dp-07888sy0dec18,0,7521339.story?coll=dp-sports-local) & when the skins played the Falcons Randle El payed Vick all week in practice. It really is a semi-important role game in preparation in most cases I am saying. I think Bledsoe will be playing Grossman (not hard) in the week of practice before the NFC Championship game & Rivers (or whoever) before the SB. If he gets a ring (which will break my heart) he’ll deserve it. ---
