Personally I’ve always thought that a country’s capital should be right in the middle (kind of as with Spain). In the U.S.'s case, of course, there are outlying states in Alaska and Hawai’i. But for my purposes I’m going to ignore those and go with the one that sounds closest to where I think it makes the most sense: Lebanon, KS.
I was thinking that if water scarcity becomes a bigger issue over this century (and that’s been predicted fairly widely) Detroit and other Great Lakes cities might see a rebirth.
