I’m in a great mood today. Whenever I start a thread – like this one – about being in a euphoric state, I think of my in-laws from Hell. For them, **Happy=Annoying** and **Happy=Dumb**. “Fat, dumb and happy,” is one of my father-in-law from Hell’s favorite phrases. So I think of my in-laws and imagine some Doper (or Dopers) opening a thread like this and being immediately sickened by my sappy happiness. I hope this image is not reality _most_ of the time… and I guess, now that I think about it, that most MPSIMS denizens are not the kind of people for whom **Happy=Annoying** or **Happy=Dumb**. Why do I care? Well, this is coming from a woman who, as a child, wanted everyone to like her and didn’t understand the impossibility of that want until her early twenties. Part of me still wants to please all of the people, all of the time. So sue me. ## On to the happiness! I got about five hours of sleep last night, I have to work this weekend, I’m missing a 10K (for which I am already registered) because I have to work, and my husband was _crab **tacular** _ this morning but I am just frikkin’ giddy! Presenting, for your reading pleasure, a bullet point list of reasons I’m happy today:[ul]**[li]School Success**. Last night I found out that I’m doing well in my Business 201 class.[/li] **[li]New PC**. I got a brand new Dell with many bells and whistles; El Hubbo had it up and running when I got home from class last night (hence the short sleep cycle).[/li] **[li]Sweating Pays Off**. My recent consecutive months of consistent running are paying off… the thighs are looking thinner and the badonka-donk butt is gettin’ firmer![/li] **[li]Running Book**. I used some incentive certificates to buy some new motivational running books from Amazon; they came in last night. One of the books is called Running for the Soul: Stories of Triumph, Laughter, Courage, Simple Pleasures and Dreams Fulfilled, edited by Claudia Piepenburg. I read it on the bus this morning… It’s a small book. Paperback, only 92 pages and costs $20.00 - damn expensive for a frikkin’ paperback. All I can say is that it is WORTH IT. If you like to run, buy this book. Inspriational.[/li] **[li]T-Shirt**. Another running-related bullet: I’m wearing my Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon Finisher shirt. I’ve never worn it to work, but today is “Wear a Team Jersey Day” and I’ve decided that this IS my team jersey. Cause it’s FRIDAY! AND! I no longer am wearing the Boot from Hell, that is, the corrective shoe the %$%^#%^#@ doctor made me wear to help with my tendinitis. Although technically I think I’m still supposed to wear it. What were his exact words? “I want you to keep wearing the boot.” But that’s open to some kind of interpretation, I 'spect. And I’ve printed out the thread about the JerseyDope that I might go to. AND! Tomorrow I’m gonna try to score tickets to go to the concert in Philly of The Other Ones (the remainding members of the Grateful Dead) with my 17-year-old brother. And it’s Friday, and I have no attention span! Or memory! And Gazelle from Hell began this thread, and she’s right cool. ---

It’s my 5th wedding anniversary today, and it also happens to be that same anniversary for a friend of mine who lives in Massachusetts. (We met after we were each wed, so it wasn’t like it was planned that way or anything.) ---

Today, I am happy because I’m over in the computer lab at school and there was a classmate here who I could ask the question that’s been holding me back from doing this exercise. (yes, I could have asked the professor, but it really was a _dumb_ question. The kind that only someone like me who overthinks everything would come up with) I am happy because it is fall break, whether I’m on campus anyway or not. I mean, I’d be here either way, but fall break means I got a _good_ parking spot without having to resort to fisticuffs to get it. And I’m just generally happy, but I’m one of those disgusting people who usually is anyway. ---

I was overjoyed at how well the case and internal layout had been designed - stuff like how the power supply is hinged to swing up and out of the way if you need to put a drive in near it, just press a button and presto. ---

I’m happy because tonight I’m going to my first concert in 4 years, I’ve got tons of time today to get things done, and life is, overall, good. Also, I’m still happy about my new motherboard and processor. (I am, however, a bit bummed that I can’t find my trenchcoat. And it’s supposed to snow tomorrow. Snow is happy, but no coat isnt.) ---

**WARNING! Computer game geekiness ahead!** So this morning, I woke up a bit early, and decided to pop into my favorite game, Everquest, for a few minutes before heading to work. See, I have been wanting to buy a new sword for my 'toon, and this sword (a Bone Handled Scimitar) has been going for between 6,000 and 10,000 platinum pieces on my server for a while…). Finally, after weeks of hard work, I have managed to accumulate 5,800 PP and change… so I’ll check and see if I can find someone selling the sword a bit cheaper than average. I’m a bit conflicted, however… you see, I’m also just a little bit from hitting level 49! At level 49, I get a bunch of new spells with which to inflict mayhem; and the spells are expensive! Should I see a BHS at a price I can afford, should I buy it? Or should I wait until I buy my spells, then work for a few days more to make the cash for the sword? Well, I logged in, made my way to the Bazaar, checked out people selling the BHS, and found someone selling for 4,000PP!! WOW! YEEE-HAH!!! Got my new sword, and STILL have cash to buy my new spells! Happiness is relative.😃 ---

Woo and ho, **Astroboy**! Funny thing is, one of the main reasons that I have a brand-new PC is so that El Hubbo and I can get our EverQuest on together. That’s right, I’m an **EverCrack Ho**. We play on the Seventh Hammer server. My favorite character is a level 21 ranger named Principezza Dellaforesta. Which server do you play on? What class is your level 49 character? ---

“badonka donk butt” - that’s a good one! Incidentally, Claudia Piepenburg is a San Diego runner. She actually coaches a track workout for the San Diego Track Club. It’s weird to read a post here and recognize a local name! [I knew she worked for Road Runner Sports and edited their magazine, but I didn’t know she’d put together a book, too] I’m happy because…it’s Friday. And it’s still early enough in the day that the happiness hasn’t been squashed by the fact that I’m sure no one will meet our budget deadline today… ---

Thanks **scout** ybaby! The phrase “badonka donk butt” is borrowed from a Crank Yankers prank call made by the character Spoonie Luv. He calls up the Village Voice and tries to place a personal ad. At one point he asks for the ad to say, “Must have a badonka donk butt. Yeah, she gots ta have a clean ass.” \<-- Not an exact quote. ---
