Buy some beer…hey, it’s free beer! Seriously, for me, $20 isn’t a big deal, as I’m a working professional. But it’s not insignificant, and I could do useful things with it, like the aforementioned beer, but other options include: [ul] [li]give it to charity[/li][li]Rent some movies[/li][li]Buy some books[/li][li]Take my kids somewhere[/li][li]Buy my kids some toy they’ll destroy within minutes[/li][li]Buy guitar strings and picks[/li][li]Get some Thai takeout[/li][li]Use it to buy part of a bottle of Very Good Scotch[/li][li]Buy a CD[/li][li]Buy, oh, 6.35 gallons of gas[/li][li]Get a rock of crack[/li][li]Get a couple of good tomato plants[/li][li]Recharge my Starbucks card[/li][li]Get it broken into $1s and go to a strip joint[/li][li]Get a haircut[/li][li]Buy an iTunes card[/li][li]Light it on fire, just because[/li][/ul] ---

I’d probably carry it around in my purse until I really needed something. I hate to break a 20. Or I might spend it at the bar this weekend, which on second thought would indeed be carrying it around in my purse until I really needed something (a drink). ---

I’d buy a book, of course, then if I had any left over, I’d buy food. (Props to Ben Franklin.) That’s actually how I calculate the money I spend on other things. If I consider buying a sweater, I say to myself, “That’s two and a half books. Is it worth it?” ---
