# If I post a photo on Twitter from my iPhone, is my location revealed?

The thread on EXIF data prompted this question. Say I take an iPhone photo in my house and post it on Twitter. Can anyone who looks at that photo use the EXIF data to find out where I live, or does the location info get stripped out?

I have the geotagging setting for photos switched on, so I assume the location info is recorded in the EXIF data, but I just tried downloading a photo from my Twitter account, then opening it in Photoshop and examining the file info, and I can’t see any location information in there.

If you actually upload it to twitter, no. [Per their FAQ](https://support.twitter.com/articles/20156423-posting-photos-on-twitter):

Results may be different if you use another twitter photo service, like yfrog, twitpic, ow.ly, etc.,
