Man, I shoulda gotten in here earlier. Funny, going thru the pages, seeing you guys hit one after another I was thinking of. Here’s about the only other early 70’s song I can quote from memory. Probably doesn’t belong here as it is a great song by a great artist. Well I grew up quick and I grew up mean My fists got hard and my wits got keen I’d roam from town to town to hide my shame But I made me a vow to the moon and stars That I’dsearch the honky tonks and bars And kill that son of a bitch that gave me that awful name Good god, I remember building a scooter out of 2X4s and a metal roller skate, and riding it up and down the block singing that song. I painted it black amnd named it “The Snake.” Gawd, I was a dork. ---
