Even though I still think Chestnut Mare’s implied bestiality references top the corny dreck list! Speaking of Chestnuts…this little diddy {with more sexual innuendo than Chuck Berry’s Live version of My Ding a Ling or Reelin’ & Rockin’} is on Rhino’s Have a Nice Day: Volume 21. It was done by **Meri Wilson** sold over a million copies and charted at 18 in **1977** (aren’t drugs great?). a snippet falls under the ‘Fair Use’ provision of copyright law - the entire composition is **NEVER** considered ‘Fair Use’ Think of snippets used in reviews (book, movie, song) - no prior consent is needed, because of the ‘fair use’ provision. (which is how a local DJ got away with airing a medley of Shatner and Nimoy butcherings - broadcast license rights for those dried up YEARS ago) p.s. - MUCH better! ---

You get to pull a 66 foot chain, on a straight line, through swamp, briar patches, deserts, and other pleasantries of nature. Thus some of the lyrics: “Huggin’ a tree when you get near it”, “I’ve seen fire and rain and snow and bright sunshine”, etc. It was years ago when I did that. I suspect that GPS units have made those chains obsolete now. (Another great summer job for high school kids bites the dust) I’m cheatin’ here, breaking the “Post Heartbreak Hotel Top 40” rule, but it’s just too tempting: “This white circle on my finger means we’re through A reminder of my wasted years with you I took off my rings and placed them out of sight But that won’t keep me from missing you tonight.” Get THAT one without google, and I’ll have Dejah Thoris send a whole plate of cyber-cookies to you! 😛 ---

**John** - didn’t know the term, although I’ve worked survey (in another life), From what I’ve seen, laser telemeter is the replacement (no chain, just carry this pole with a mirror where a rabbit could’nt go. Still good excercise in the open air… the song (yes, I cheated) is ‘This White Circle’, probably by Kitty Wells (I do very little C&W) \*\*Rico! - \*\* Breakthrough! [hijack] **Rico** , thanks for the memories. I did that song karaoke-style in a hotel bar in Huntingdon, West Virginia while I was visiting a friend of mine who’s an archaeologist. It was the first time I’d met her co-workers and I hadn’t spoken to them much when I did that song, complete with appropriate accent. What my friend and I found so amusing is that I am indeed from the South, south of London, England, and my natural accent is North-East American, with a faint hint of British.
