Bottle of wine, fruit of the vine,
When you gonna let me get sober?
Leave me alone, let me go home,
Let me go back and start over.
I’ve always thought this was the most pathetically honest song about alcoholism!
Mr. Bass Man, you’ve got that certain somethin.’
Mr. Bass Man, you set that music thumpin.’
To you it’s easy when you go, “1-2-3.”
Ba-da-bup-bup bow!
It’s a fun song but really sorta stupid. Just like I like 'em.
D-R-E-C-K, DRECK!
that’s what we’re looking for!
[sub]Let me go HOME and start over[/sub]
Heh, you asked for it. I’m going above and beyond here, you’re not just getting a snippet of lyrics from some bad song, you’re getting the full experience.
NOT WORK FRIENDLY, has sound. Hell, not friendly at all, scary, Scary, SCARY!
But you’ll click them anyway won’t you
Steven
I was talking to my mom and she suggest a Dean Martin hit and even rolled her eyes at the song. I had to look up the words but figure it is fair cause mom was quoting the words but I had a memory dump by the time I got to a computer.
Everybody loves somebody sometime
Everybody falls in love somehow
Something in your kiss just told me
That sometime is now
Everybody finds somebody someplace
There’s no telling where love may appear
Something in my heart keeps saying
My someplace is here
[sub]Rico I am in the left coast, LA county[/sub]
(thanks, CJ - actually, you are no longer actually required to burn us as the stake, but it remains an option, as near as I can tell
)
Ribbons from her hair
Souvenirs of days together
The ring she used to wear
Pages from an old love letter
Traces of love long ago
That didn’t work out right
Traces of love with me toniiiight…
[sub]White bird must fly, or she will die…[/sub]
Call me.
Don’t be afraid, you can call me.
Maybe it’s late, but just call me.
Tell me and I’ll be around.
Now don’t forget me
cause if you let me
[ugh I better stop there or else it will be in my head all day and I will have to scrub the thing again–although it might be too late]
How could we have forgotten Neil Sedaka:
I love I love my little calendar girl
Each and every day of the year
January you start the year off fine
February you’re my little valentine
engarde!
I feel pretty,
Oh so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and bright
And I pity
Any girl
Who isn’t me tonight
I’m strictly a female female
And my future I hope will be
In the home of a brave and free male
Who’ll enjoy being a guy having a girl like me.
In this whole world
You can love but one girl
Let me be that one girl
I’ll be true to you
You don’t understand
That a girl like me can love
Just one man…
You’ve been gone a week,
And I’ve tried so hard,
Not to be the crying kind
Not to be the girl you left behind…
For somebody who don’t try
I’ve been all around the world
Some people say I done all right for a girl…
Doh, a deer, a female deer,
Ray, a drop of golden sun,
Me, a name I call myself,
Fah, a long, long way to run,
Soh, a needle pulling thread,
Lah, a note to follow soh,
Te, a drink with jam and bread,
That will take us back to
Doh, a deer, a female deer…
ad nauseum

You ask me if there’ll be a time
when I’ll grow tired of you,
NEVER MY LOVE,
NEVER MY LOVE.
You wonder if this heart of mine
will lose its desire for you
NEVER MY LOVE,
NEVER MY LOVE
AND…
CHERISH is the word I use to describe
all the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I had TOLD you ,
you don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I could HOLD you.
Another month themed song that was made from dreck comes from the great Stevie Wonder
I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care
I just called to say I love you,
and I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
You wouldn’t happen to live in L.A. would you?
Must be something in the smog…
(you forgot “Twelfth of Never”)
[sub]Tip-toe through the tulips with me…[/sub]
Eres tu como el agua de mi fuente (algo asar eres tu)
Eres tu el fuego de mi hogar
Eres tu como el fuego de mi hoguera
Eres tu el trigo de mi pan.
Eres tu…
Eres Tu Mocedades, 1974
[sub]Dawn, go away, I’m no good for you,
Oh, Dawn, stay with him, he’ll be good to you…[/sub]
Did no one ever tell you the facts of life?
Well there’s so much you have to learn.
And I would gladly teach you if I could only reach you
And get your lovin’ in return.
Lady Willpower, it’s now or never.
Give your love to me and I’ll shower
Your heart with tenderness endlessly.
[sub]…and I made up my own little sign. It said: ‘Thank you Lord, for thinkin’ about me, I’m alive and doin’ fine…[/sub]

[sub]Thank heaven for little girls, for without them, what yould little boys do…[/sub]
I can see why you think you belong to me
I never tried to make you think or let you see one thing for yourself
But now you’re off with someone else and I’m alone
You see I thought that I might keep you for my own.
Amie, what 'choo wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do.
So I’d Like to know where you got the notion
Said, I’d Like to know where you got the notion
<to rock the boat>
Don’t rock the boat, baby
<rock the boat>
Don’t tip the boat over,
<rock the boat>
Don’t rock the boat, baby
<rock the bo–ooo–at>
Ever since our voyage of love began
Your touch has thrilled me like the rush of the wind
And your heart has held me safe from the rolling sea
There’s been a quiet place to harbor me
Our love is like a ship on the ocean
We’ve been sailing with a load of love and devotion…
[sub]you’ve got to walk that lonesome valley, You’ve got to walk it by yourself, nobody else can walk it for you…[/sub]
If we’re going for dreck - fourth class, this’ll do
")
Hello, yeah, it’s been a while.
Not much, how 'bout you?
I’m not sure why I called,
I guess I really just wanted to talk to you.
And I was thinking maybe later on,
We could get together for a while.
It’s been such a long time,
And I really do miss your smile.
I’m not talking 'bout moving in,
And I don’t want to change your life.
But there’s a warm wind blowing,
The stars are out, and I’d really love to see you tonight…"
Translation: how about lay - for old time’s sake… how romantic!
[sub]I know, it’s only rock and roll, but I like it, like it, yes I do…[/sub]
Please excuse a minor hi-jack here.
Happyheathen, I hope you can help me with the title and “artist” of the following lyrics:
Linda lost her lover
In the early part of autumn.
Mercifully have forgotten some of the lyrics
Last time that I saw her
She was making sure the winter
Couldn’t come through that old door frame
Where the door is several inches
From the ground, the cold, hard ground.
And its hard to go down easy
Blah, blah, blah.
Dreck if I’ve ever heard it.
“Have you never been mellow?
Have you never tried to find a comfort from inside you?
Have you never been happy just to hear your song?
Have you never let someone else be strong?”
[sub]Another Saturday night and I ain’t got no honey…[/sub]
