If the Confederacy had won, would they have eventually abolished slavery?

You are playing a little word game here. You’re conflating “evil” and “wrong”. You were asked if George Bush believes what he’s done is “evil”; you answered that he now knows it was “wrong”. One could conclude that a military decision was wrong (though I don’t think he believes that about going into Iraq), but not “evil”. Surely, you see that.

Of course you wouldn’t; you don’t agree with him. But you’re missing the main point and judging people from another time with the sensibilities from ours. We can see the evil in slavery. They did not, particularly if you go back thousands of years (which was a different flavor of slavery actually).

In our society in the USA, no one is treated like a slave. Neither black nor white is assigned menial tasks or important positions because of race.

And the same is true of gender. No one gender acts as servant to the other. In homes where both work outside the household, both male and female share equal responsibility for cleaning the home, doing the laundry, preparing the food, paying the bills, mowing the lawn, playing with the children, participating in school activities, and making major decisions.

On holidays Mom and Dad both work in the kitchen to get the meal to the table and it’s not just the girls who do the clean up work afterwards.

Then all will relax and watch the Women Vols play the Women Dores for the big championship game. (The Men’s game was last night.)

Isn’t it grand that we automatically know what is good and right now and do it without a second thought? Isn’t it wonderful to be living and free in America?

And that’s why divorce rates are through the roof.

WTF?? I believe you have been seriously whooshed but in any case, seriously, WTF?
