If the current Iraq war is found to be illegal, what should happen to Sadam?

Note to self re: Effective Communication.

  • Start using the ‘Roll eyes’ smiley where appropriate.

Some people are thick. Why sweat it? I’m sure most people understood what you were saying. It was pretty obvious, after all.

If Saddam was put back in power with the necessary support (have his police and military in place) he’d put down any rebellion pretty quick. There is nothing like creating mounds of skulls to get people’s attention.

“Saddam, you’ll get a fair trial before we hang you” What is the point? Is there any chance at all that he will be found innocent and not hung? Any? How many more people have to die (assasinations of judges, lawyers, etc) before he takes the drop?

As has been stated, International Law is a toothless tiger. There is no way to enforce the findings of one group on another outside of a soverign nation (as the definition of soverign precludes it). Since those going to war represent some of the ‘heavy hitters’ of the world; no one will even be able to get it through an international body (we all remember it wasn’t JUST the US).

We can argue about Just and UnJust or right and wrong; but there is almost no control of ‘legal’ and ‘illegal’ in international venues

Nitpick: Charles I was the one who got the axe.
