Some of us are old enough to remember those days before computers, or at least before the internet.
We probably vaguely recall what we used to do.
Assuming there were no computers or internet, what would you be doing now?

Reading. That’s what I did the last time I didn’t have internet access for a few weeks, I just dug into my book collection.

I used to read 1-2 books a week. Now maybe 1 a month or every 2 months!

Work in a lab, I imagine. My MSc would not have been in Computer Chemistry, of course; I imagine it would have been in Orgo instead (with KC, he was nice). That would have been such an enormous change in my life I might still be living in the US! I wouldn’t be able to have either of my two jobs: I’m in IT (SAP Functional Analyst) and a Technical Translator (contact with clients is 99% via email).

I’m at work right this moment, so I put other. I don’t know what else I’d be doing since I haven’t ever worked this job without internet access. I’d probably be staring at the screen waiting for something to happen (slow night in the ER) or chatting with the nurses.

Listening to music, probably while reading a book.
Thinking about this kinda makes me realise how much different things would be for me if I didn’t have computers/internet.

Writing long hand. Drawing. That’s what I did as a teen, I expect I’d do something similar still, because I do virtually the same thing online.

I marked other, as I’d be doing multiple things at once, like I do now. Just minus the computer. There’s only 2 times when I’m not multitasking. When I’m asleep, and when I’m having sex.

I’d be sat at work, at my drawing board, designing stuff with a -gasp- pencil.
Those were the days. My first proper job coincided with Macs beginning to venture into the design studio. We were five designers, each with a desk and a drawing board, and one shared computer in the middle of the room.
And I was much more productive before they invented this internet thingy.

Well, I used to research my family tree on microfiche. I’d be about 1/100th as far into it as I am now, and going blind from trying to read the old handwritten records. What fun.

Yep. Not only would I be working, I’d have to somehow be using my calculator instead of the computer, which means a simple thing which takes 60 seconds now would take about a week to calculate.
I wouldn’t like it.
