From the birthday fairy: a new car (or a bigger down payment so I don’t have to finance as much), removal of a few pounds from my round, middle aged body and a double fudge cake (iced, of course) with no calories and no carbs. From real life folks: a romantic evening w/ the man of choice, a visit from my sister, a spa massage or a gift card to anyplace I enjoy shopping or eating. ---

My eighteenth birthday was last week. I asked my siblings and miscellaneous relatives for “A book or something pretty” and got two books and some necklaces, jewellery boxes and wind chimes. I asked my parents for a violin. They gave me a computer instead, which is even better. If the birthday fairy is in town, I’d like a part-time job please. ---

I’d like my cow-orker’s wife to get a big raise and a new job assignment on the east coast somewhere so he’d have to move away and I wouldn’t have to put up with his BS anymore. Is that too much to ask? ---

iPhone. I wanted one before they were even released, and it seems everyone but me has one. ☹ It has an astronomy app! You hold it up to the sky and it labels the stars! I want an iPhone. ---

My birthday is in three weeks. I’ve asked for dinner at the sushi place that has all the vegetarian sushi, and a coconut cream pie rather than a cake. Tomorrow really is my birthday. What I want most is for my dad not to be amongst the 10% of people at his company laid off next week because the military hasn’t paid his employer for any of the work they’ve requisitioned since December.
