So I have heard, yet that has precisely zero relevance to the state of the evidence surrounding the uses to which the Iraqi’s have put their aluminum tubes.
The Iraqi’s may indeed have done many things that violated the UN directives. They certainly not have been as forthcoming as our president desires. So what ? That doesn’t mean that they’ve done every nasty thing you or the president claim they have. If you wish to validate any of your specific charges against the regime, the burden of proof still rests with the accusers.
It’s too bad that Saddam’s cooperation isn’t sufficient for you to hang a new nuclear program around his neck, but that’s life. Sometimes the answers don’t come easy. That’s not really surprising in this case, where the only answer the pro-war faction will accept from Saddam is “guilty as charged”, and then we’ll go to war anyway. I sure hope they find some nukes and stuff when we do invade Iraq. Otherwise we’ll end up looking like a nation of real paranoid assholes.
Of all the stuff you’ve accused me of doing that “school vouchers” example makes me blush. You do not and will not understand that the inspectors are there so that Saddam can prove he does not have WMD’s. You completely ignore the parts of my posts that you have no answer to and attack the same old things.
I never said that Mr. Blix is a friend of the U.S., if he were you would have already attacked him as being pro-American. The reason that I quoted Mr. Blix is that what he said is like a choir member saying the preacher is a heretic. He has swung over in his opinion, just the same way France is about to do. It is getting more and more lonely on that side of the ball, but there are a few that never will change.
As well it should. The fact that the inspectors are there to offer Saddam an opportunity to disarm voluntarily has nothing whatsoever to do with the actual purpose to which the Iraqi’s put those aluminium tubes. It is indeed very sad that Saddam has not offered the world proof of his ongoing attempts, if any, to build nuclear weapons, but absent such a gift from the great dictator, we shall have to assemble the evidence ourselves. So far it’s been pretty sparse on the ground, and we’ll really look like a bunch of paranoid assholes if we get into Baghdad and can’t lay our hands on a centrifuge or two to prove we were justified in our suspicions.
Are we done repeating ourselves yet ? That was just Odd
